God Qualifies the Called

Somewhere she sits … the woman who needs to hear this. These words that speak of a deeper truth, words that whisper of the spark that may one day fan into a flame, words that speak to a longing she can no longer neglect.

Maybe she’s you. Maybe she’s your best friend. Maybe she’s your sister. Whoever she is, wherever she is, there is a woman who needs to hear this. God doesn’t call the qualified; he qualifies the called.

He called a shepherd boy to slay a giant. He called a stuttering man to command freedom for His people. He called a prisoner to interpret dreams, a young girl to save her race, a virgin to deliver His son.

And friend … He’s calling you too. But if you’re anything like me, you keep questioning the call because you feel unqualified.

I get it, but please hear me. He doesn’t need your qualifications. He just needs your heart. In fact, it’s your disqualifications that will bring the most glory to His name, because in the end you’ll be able to say it was all by His power.

So what are you waiting to do? What urging has gripped you and won’t let go? What has the Spirit placed upon your heart with a weight that cannot be measured?

Whatever it is … if He has called you to it, He will qualify you for it.

Mom to 5 | Author “When Mothering is Hard & No One Sees” | Inspiring moms to anchor in Christ, nurture grace-filled families, foster lifegiving homes

How would you parent differently if you knew Jesus How would you parent differently if you knew Jesus was coming back soon?

I’ve been thinking about this question because it’s so easy to get caught up in the immediate demands of motherhood.

The meals. The laundry. The schoolwork. The activities. The endless decisions about what our children need and what we should be doing better.

And while these things have their place, I wonder how often we pause to consider the eternal significance of the work we’re doing.

Are we so busy preparing our children for the life we hope they’ll have here that we forget to prepare them for eternity?

Are we more concerned with their success than their souls? Their achievements than their character? Their comfort than their faith?

We don’t know when Jesus will return. But we do know that our days are numbered, our children are entrusted to us for a season, and the work of discipling them matters.

This isn’t an invitation to mother out of fear or to carry the impossible weight of saving our children. Only Jesus can do that.

It’s an invitation to lift our eyes.

To remember what matters most.

And to be faithful with the ordinary, unseen moments God has placed right in front of us.

Let’s parent with eternity in mind.

“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” — Matthew 24:44

Save this as a reminder of the calling we’ve been given, and share it with a mom who wants to raise children who know and love Jesus.

There are things I can’t do for my children. There There are things I can’t do for my children. There are places I can’t walk then through. Decisions I can’t make for them. Hardships I can’t overcome.

But I know the One who can. I know the God who can lead them through the valley. Tend their broken heart. Wipe every tear from their eye. I know the God who can turn a valley of dry bones into a testimony of resurrection , and I know He can do the same for them.

So I get on my knees, and I do the one thing I know I can do even when I’m otherwise helpless. I pray. Fervently. Without ceasing. On my knees. And I know when I do, God hears from heaven and will answer my prayer.

Of all the things I do, nothing is more important Of all the things I do, nothing is more important or more effectual than going to battle for my children on my knees! The prayers of a praying parent are powerful indeed.

If you have a longing you can’t shake, if there’s If you have a longing you can’t shake, if there’s something you believe the Lord has placed on your heart, and it hasn’t yet come to fruition, I want to encourage you …

Don’t give up. Don’t shelve it. Don’t fall for the lie that you’re too old or too irrelevant. God’s timing is not our own. And a sometimes His NO is simply an invitation to a better YES.
